This is a deeply resorative and wonderfully healing facial, which incorporates a beautifully soothing warm Eastern Compress Massage, which contain various petals and herbs to nourish the skin and the soul. A facial that calls upon the healing properties essential oils to support the lower Chakra's, to help boost vitality and ground the spirit. We also offer Temple Tree Body Rituals for those looking for a complete top to toe spa MOT! (please see our massage treatment menu).
Reiki Healing
Reiki Healing is a traditional Japanese hands on healing modality founded by Dr Mikao Usui, a lay Tendai Buddhist practitioner. In the traditional form of Japanese Reiki (as apposed to the western forms of Reiki that are often offered in the UK) traditionally Japanese trained Reiki practitioners work by influencing the flow of Ki or Qi as it’s known in China (the life force energy), along the Japanese energy meridians and junction points, within the human system. We do not work with Chakras (western influenced Reiki).
In the traditional Japanese system, it is believed Ki energy flow can be influenced by our thoughts, emotions and many of our human experiences. In order for the human health system to remain robust and functioning optimally, Ki needs to be flowing freely (and in the right direction) through the body. If energy meridians become stagnant or blocked, this can lead to physical symptoms manifesting in the body.
Reiki healing treatments involve the Reiki practioner, holding their hands over, or lightly on various points of the body whilst allowing the Reiki energy to flow freely. Clients remain fully clothed during the process. It can be a very calming, soothing and relaxing experience.
We feel that our Reiki therapists stand out a little at Aquavie as Karen and Elizabeth are very experienced Reiki practitioners. Keeping in line with Dr Usui’s teachings, where it usually takes decades to reach Reiki Master level in your journey as a Reiki Healer if you have trained with a Japanese Reiki Teacher, Elizabeth’s Reiki Master only allowed Elizabeth to commence her Master Level training after twenty years of practicing professionally. She had to demonstrate to her Master that her understanding of this spiritual practice and her ability to sense and channel the energy had deepened to such a level that her teacher felt she was ready. Elizabeth also believes her Zen Buddhist training with her Zen Master has immensely influenced her ability to reach this level too, due to the teachings she has received from Daizan Roshi (Buddhist monk) on working with Ki energy through ancient Zen practices.
Karen also continues to study with a recognised spiritual teacher and Reiki Master and has also taken many years to train through the professional practitioner levels.
Ayurvedic Massage
Ayurveda is a traditional Indian healing system, that focuses on the use of nutrition, massage treatments and yoga in order to keep the physical, spiritual and emotional bodies healthy. Ayurvedic massage is a deeply soothing and nourishing massage, incorporating slow, grounding and rhythmic massage movements. Beautiful warm aromatic oils, are expertly massaged into the body using firm but incredibly soothing strokes. Ancient ayurvedic massage uses techniques to help increase the free flow of prana (the life force energy within us), helping to unblock eergy meridians and in turn balance the body. This massage also incorporates some very gentle stretches of the upper body to help alleviate muscle tension in the neck, shoulders and arms. We are very lucky to have Ambika on our team of Spa Therapist, a traditionally trained Ayurvedic, Nepalese Massage Therapist who has worked in a very prestigious spa in Nepal and has done some advanced training with all of our Ayurvedic Spa Therapists.
Nepalese Face & Feet Ritual
This is one of the most grounding and relaxing treatments we offer at Aquavie with Ambika.
A deeply nourishing and energising eastern treatment infusing Thai and Ayurvedic Massage techniques to calm the mind, soothe the soul, whilst unblocking energy meridians of the face and feet. The Ritual commences with cleanse of the face, followed by our unique and authentic eastern facial massage, which also works on various marma points of the face. An Eastern/Ayurvedic Reflexology treatment than follows, incorporating acupressure point and deep flowing massage movements of the feet and lower legs. This Ritual is incredibly grounding, and is particularly suitable for those suffering with anxiety, stress or an over thinking mind and is Elizabeth’s go to treatment if she is feeling a little under pressure or ungrounded.
