About Elizabeth...

Elizabeth Caroline’s interest in a spirituality and personal development was heavily present in her teenage years.

Having always felt a strong inner pull to explore what life was all about, she trained in Reiki healing at the age of 22 and was guided to her first spiritual mentor at the age of 24, Rev Beth Atkins (an interfaith minister).

It was Beth who first taught Elizabeth about Buddhism, meditation, mindfulness and working with energy (Ki). Beth also encouraged Elizabeth to go on to study at the International Psychic College in London, and it was here that she was encouraged to develop her ability to sense energy and ‘see’ colours around people and animals.

It was her tutor at Stansted Hall who gently guided her towards healing work, as she believed this was Elizabeth’s true life’s purpose.

Elizabeth served in the Metropolitan Police for 13 years, it was during her time in the police that she also commenced her training as a spa and level four sports therapist in London. Eventually infusing her years of spiritual training into her spa therapies, expertly intertwining ancient eastern philosophy with a western approach to wellness. She very quickly saw the dramatic impact this type of work could have on people’s inner and outer wellness.

Aquavie was launched in 2008, from a passion of wanting to create a unique and beautiful healing sanctuary on the High Street.  Elizabeth went on to be a renowned facialist in London, with a list of high-profile celebrities and beauty journalists speaking of her talents.  One of her facials was named in the top five facials in the world by Sadie Frost in Harpers Bazaar. Word of Elizabeth’s reputation also travelled overseas, which led her to be invited by one of Hollywood’s leading dermatologists to guest as his lead facialist in his luxurious clinic in Beverly Hills.

Having maintained a regular meditation practice for almost two decades, in 2018 Elizabeth began to explore the possibility of qualifying to teach meditation and mindfulness to others, this curiosity led her to meet her current teacher, a Buddhist Zen Master, Daizan Roshi. She went on to qualify as a Zenways Zen Meditation and Mindfulness teacher in 2020 under Daizan’s guidance. In the same year she also took the Zen Precepts and joined the Zenways Sangha as a Lay practitioner. Elizabeth remains a student of Daizan Roshi’s and is passionate in teaching others how to explore a more mindful way of living.

Due to the demands of running a successful spa business, Elizabeth only works on Saturdays in treatment at Aquavie and she also runs Meditation and Mindfulness courses at Tonbridge Castle.
