Bye-bye facial fuzz

If you’ve ever felt self-conscious about those pesky chin hairs or lip moustache, you’re not alone.

Unwanted facial hair can be a real confidence buster. Removing it not only enhances your natural beauty but also makes makeup application smoother and more flawless.

Whether it’s a few stray strands or a ‘bit more’, there’s a perfect removal method for everyone. Alice explores the best ways to keep your face smooth and fuzz free.

The precision of tweezing

Tweezing is a classic method for a reason. It’s precise and perfect for small areas like your eyebrows or occasional stray chin hairs. “Tweezing is great for getting that perfect brow shape, but it can be a bit painful and time-consuming if you have a lot of hair to remove,” says Alice.

“For best results hold the skin tight and pluck in the direction of hair growth. And remember to sterilise your tweezers before use.”

Depilatory hair removal creams

These creams break down hair just below the skin’s surface, making them a quick and painless option, but they often contain harsh chemicals, which some people can be sensitive to and irritation can occur explains Alice.

Always do a patch test first to avoid any irritation or allergy and follow the instructions on the package carefully.

Smooth skin with dermaplaning

Dermaplaning uses a scalpel to gently scrape off dead skin cells and peach fuzz. “It’s one of my favourites for achieving super smooth skin,” says Georgia. “It creates a beautiful smooth base for applying make up and exfoliates the skin to enable active ingredients in products to penetrate deeper. But it’s best done by a professional to avoid nicks and cuts.”

Why choose professional dermaplaning?

Our experienced specialists use high-quality tools and techniques, giving you the best results without the risk of cuts. We finish with a hydrating serum for smooth, silky skin. Results last for around two-four weeks. This specialist treatment can be combined with oxygen therapy (a VERY popular choice with our clients) or Deramlux LED Light Therapy.

Long-lasting results with waxing

Waxing pulls hair out from the root using wax strips or hot wax, leaving skin smooth for up to four weeks.

Waxing can be harsh for some skin types, especially for sensitive skin, which can sometimes cause minor redness and mild irritation. It’s also crucial to stop acids in the week before waxing, particularly if you are having facial waxing. Specifically retinol, salicylic acid, AHAs, and other powerful exfoliators. Always check in advance with us – we’re here to help and advise you.

Threading

Threading uses a twisted cotton thread to pull out hair from the root, making it perfect for shaping eyebrows. It’s very precise, doesn’t involve chemicals and results last up to six weeks.

Why choose professional threading?

Our skilled therapists ensure perfect precision, giving you the ideal shape to complement your facial features, and making it quicker and less painful than DIY attempts. Lily can incorporate threading into her HD Brows treatment.

Easy and quick shaving

Shaving isn’t just for men. It’s quick and easy, but the results are short-term. Razor nicks and cuts are not pretty, and stubble regrowth is often a problem. Many people also suffer with ‘shaving rash’, which can be unsightly and mildly uncomfortable.

Fuzz free and fabulous

There you have it. Each hair removal method has its own perks and quirks. It’s all about finding what works best for your skin and hair type.
